Taking your brand new baby out into the big wide world for the first time can be a huge event. Have you got the nappy bag? How exactly does that pram work? Where are you going to feed them? For some families, the only reason you may leave the house during those first few weeks is to visit the child health nurse at the chemist … and for newborn photography! It makes choosing the right newborn photographer seem like a daunting task, doesn’t it?
It’s a big deal! I remember it well … holding my breath a little and hoping that we’d get through those first few outings without too much chaos. Understanding what it’s like to have a new baby has helped me to create an experience here at Little Spring Photography that is designed to make your life easier! You’ll love visiting my studio knowing that I have everything you need here to make your first adventure out with your baby a safe, comfortable and enjoyable one!
When choosing a newborn photographer, the safety of your baby should be your #1 concern. Experience and training is a must and you’ll be happy to know that I’ve been taught by the best! I have been working in this industry since 2015? and have photographed hundreds of little visitors to my Bacchus Marsh studio! Make sure you find all about your photographer’s credentials before you consider booking with them! A detailed COVID safe plan is of course crucial these days as well!
So what about style? Not every newborn photographer will produce the same kind of imagery for you. There are lots of different ways to photograph a newborn baby. Some people prefer a more lifestyle approach while others love colours, props, cute outfits and interesting backdrops. When you visit my studio on the outskirts of Melbourne, we talk in detail about the kinds of images that you’re looking for. It’s important to me that you have input into the colours and textures that we use so that you take home a gallery of images that you adore.
There are lots of great photographers out there, so what else should you look for when deciding who to book for your newborn photos? Some studios provide digital images to their clients and others don’t. Some like to sell beautiful wall art or heirloom print products and others may not. Take a look at my pricing and collections to see all of the alternatives on offer here at Little Spring Photography. If you’re after something specific, just ask! I’m always happy to help.
Reading the reviews of past clients might help you decide which newborn photographer is the right person for you. While price and style are important, knowing that you’ll receive a great service is great peace of mind! The best way to get a feel for a photographer’s service is, of course, hearing the words of others. You can read a number of testimonials on my website or visit Facebook, Google or Find A Photographer Australia to read reviews from my happy clients.
Newborn photography is best scheduled during the first 2 weeks after the baby is born if you’re after those gorgeous, curly newborn shots. With that in mind, it’s best to get in touch during your pregnancy so that we can pencil in your due date and save you a space! You might find a baby photographer that you love but we do book out quickly so make sure you check availability as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
Choosing the right newborn photographer doesn’t seem so scary now, does it? Every baby is different and so are your needs. It’s my job to work with you to create an experience and final product that you’ll love. It’s all part of the service here at Little Spring Photography and I’m always happy to help!
